2020 Playford Trust Honours Scholarship
Having completed a Bachelor of Science (Marine Biology) at Flinders University, I am currently wrapping up my PhD in Coastal Ecology. Hopefully I will continue in academia doing further coastal research and educating undergraduate students.
Snorkelling throughout childhood inspired a passion within me for the marine environment which in turn inspired me to study marine biology.
Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 my honours project couldn’t go ahead in the expected capacity and had to be adjusted which was a challenging time for me. This scholarship funding meant that I could focus solely on my studies during COVID without having to work to pay for living expenses. This provided me with the peace of mind that I could continue my studies during this time.
I would like to thank the Playford Trust for providing funding to a young scientist and giving them the security to be able to follow their passions.
