Jillian Moffatt – Minerals and fluoresence

2015 Scantech/Playford Trust scholarship

Jillian completed her doctorate on fluorescence identification of minerals in 2020.
Since then she has worked at the University of Adelaide on multiple projects, including developing and testing prototype mineral sensors with an Adelaide-based company, and investigating new fluorescence signatures for geological analysis and space mining.
Jillian says her Playford Trust scholarship helped her focus on her studies to develop the research skills necessary for her current career.
She hopes to continue to work in research.
