He had been a dedicated and enthusiastic member of the Board since 2009, serving with distinction as Chairman of the Investment Committee for all of that time.
Danny was a sharebroker by profession and Chairman of Day Cutten Ltd prior to its acquisition by The Macquarie Bank Group. After retiring, he acted as financial advisor to a number of boards. He was Chairman of The Mary Potter Foundation and a member of the Investment Committee of Minda Inc.
He was also a member of a number of industry bodies and had served as a panel member on the Disciplinary Tribunal of The Australian Securities Exchange and as a Trustee/Director of NGS Super, an industry superannuation fund focused on the non-government school sector.
Dean Brown, Chairman of the Playford Trust Board, summed up the views of Danny’s colleagues: ‘Danny’s passing is a sad loss to the community of South Australia. His contribution to the Playford Trust and many other not-for-profit organisations was outstanding. We have lost a very dear friend and colleague who had a social conscience and who strove to achieve so much.’
