Our Partnership with Tri-Star

Independent oil and gas explorer, developer and producer, Tri-Star, will fund one $20,000 scholarship for a student enrolling in petroleum engineering at The University of Adelaide and commencing their studies in 2021.

The successful student will receive $10,000 each year for the first two years of their course and have the opportunity to develop a career-enhancing relationship with the company.

Recognising the growing demand for engineering expertise in an industry that is leading our technological future, the South Australian Government has pledged to match industry-funded scholarships. This means that one additional scholarship will involve Beach Energy.

One will be named the Tri-Star Playford Trust Petroleum Engineering Scholarship and the other will be named the SA Government/ Tri-Star Playford Trust Petroleum Engineering Scholarship.

Tri-Star Group is a privately-owned family business that has been at the forefront of natural gas exploration and production in Australia since the 1980s, with current exploration projects spanning across South Australia, Queensland, the Northern Territory, and Texas, USA.

Driven by three generations of geological expertise, Tri-Star combines local knowledge with the backing of a global company.  We have a proven track record of building truly international quality projects from the ground-up; our exploration conducted in Queensland’s Bowen Basin in the late 1980s and early 1990s underpinned the development of today’s $80 billion LNG industry there.

We have significant hopes for our exploration acreage in South Australia and developing a long-term business in the state, and are delighted to support the Playford Trust and its scholarship recipients for the first time in 2021.
