Francene Connor is a marketing and communications consultant, a Fellow of the Australian Marketing Institute (FAMI) and a Certified Practising Marketer (CPM). For more than 30 years, she has worked to shape public recognition and support for significant community events such as the Royal Adelaide Show; Adelaide Festival and Writers’ Week; and Adelaide’s Bid for the 1998 Commonwealth Games.
She has contributed to building philanthropic support for STEM-based organisations including RiAus and the South Australian Museum.
Francene was an elected Councillor and Alderman on the Adelaide City Council and has been a Board Director of the South Australian Tourism Commission, TAFESA Council and the Adelaide Convention and Tourism Authority. She was a State finalist in the Telstra Business Women’s Awards and has been an Australia Day Ambassador since 2008.
Francene was a member of the University of Adelaide’s School Advisory Board in the School of Architecture, Landscape Architecture and Urban Design. Francene is a Fellow of the Governor’s Leadership Foundation and a member of the Leaders Institute of South Australia.
In 2014 Francene joined the board of the Playford Memorial Trust and is a member of the Scholarship Committee and Chair of the Marketing Committee.
