Scholarships

Encouraging the development of young South Australians

The Playford Trust provides a range of scholarships to selected students studying at one of the three South Australian universities.  The Trust is seeking to encourage the development of young South Australians in key areas of importance to South Australia, namely:

Key Areas of importance

• Advanced Manufacturing and New Technologies
• Horticulture and Aquaculture
• Mining and Resources Development
• Water, Energy and Climate Change

A range of scholarships are offered, including:

• Regional Science and Engineering Scholarships
• Playford Honours Scholarships in Science and Engineering
• PhD scholarships

In addition the Playford Trust is working in collaboration with other organizations to offer additional scholarships.  Currently these partnership scholarship offerings include the Scantech/Playford Honours Physics Scholarships and the AusIMM/Playford Honours Scholarships in geoscience and mining engineering.

TAFE SA Students

The Playford Trust supports TAFE SA students undertaking study in a range of Primary & Allied Industry Award courses such as Agriculture, Horticulture, Environmental Management; and Conservation Land Management.  Students also undertaking study in Award courses such as Geo-Science/Land Management Information Systems, Mining and Food Science are encouraged to apply. These awards aim to assist students in their future studies.  Five (5) Playford Awards of $2,000 each are offered to TAFE SA students annually.
